Fattoria Poggio Alloro is an organic estate winery in San Gimignano in Siena Province in Tuscany, Italy. Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG and DOCG Riserva whites are made, plus Chianti DOCG and San Gimignano Rosso DOC reds. Vin Santo del Chianti DOC is also produced.

Owners: The Fioroni brothers: Umberto, Amico and Bernardo. The family took the estate on in 1953 (under the then mezzadria system) and acquired it in 1977.

Estate vineyards: 2019 120ha of land in total, at Località San Andrea, 5km from (and lower than) San Gimignano, between San Gimignano and Poggibonsi). 220-240 metres. There are 37ha of vines. Of this, 6ha are for Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG (eg ‘Il Nicchia’ and ‘Le Mandorle’, including Chardonnay), and 21ha are for Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG from Sangiovese, Canaiaolo, Colorino, Cabernet and Merlot. Vin Santo del Chianti DOC is made from hand picked Malvasia and Trebbiano Toscano.

Other crops: 12ha of woodland (used for firewood), and 5ha of cereal crops such as Durum wheat (‘grano duro’), spelt (‘farro’), barley (‘orzo’), sunflowers (‘girasole’), oats (‘avena’), and maize (‘granoturco’), from which is made pasta di semola di grano duro and pasta di farro and forage for the animals raised here: mainly the Chianina (T-bone) beef herd, but also rabbit, chicken, pheasant, pigs and Cinta Senese pigs. Also 1,500 olive trees for oil, plus saffron and honey.

Tourism: 10-room appartment to rent, with swimming pool. The estate sells its wine, oil, meat and pasta from its shop.
