Damaschino is a white grape variety native to Italy.

Where grown: In Sicilia (Sicily) it is still grown in the provinces of Trapani (where it is used in the blend for Marsala DOC) and Agrigento. Vinified as a single-variety, it can be found in the Delia Nivolelli DOC. Other blended wines it can be found in include Salemi IGT, Avola IGT and other IGTs.

Viticulture: Large sized bunches, with medium-large berries. Very vigourous. Very sensitive to diseases, not being particularly resistant to grey rot or peronospora (downy mildew) compared to other local varieties.
