Castello di Verrazzano is an organic estate winery in Località Verrazzano in Greve in Chianti in Tuscany, Italy. The estate claims to have made its first wines in 1070. The estate, which has two look out towers, enjoys a strategic position between Siena and Florence (Firenze). Verrazzano is named after Giovanni da Verrazzano who lived here, and discovered New York harbour. Red wines are made under the Chianti Classico DOCG. Vin Santo is made under the Vin Santo del Chianti Classico DOC.
Owner: The vineyards were replanted by Cappellini Family from 1958.

Vineyards: 220 hectares of land of which 50 hectares of vineyards. On a hillside. 130–440 metres. The highest part of the estate is woodland. The vineyards extend from the limit of the wood to the whole underlying valley, within boundaries unchanged for centuries.
Terroir: Clay-calcareous soil. East facing. Elevation of 280-450m asl.
Organics: Fertilization is organic, vineyards are mechanically weeded.
Organic certification: 2014 First vintage with full organic certification.
Winemaking: 100% hand picked. Concrete and stainless steel vats.
