Tenuta La Vigna: Estate winery at Località Santa Maria in the San Gimignano region of Tuscany in Italy. The estate was founded in 1955 by Fausto Mora and Vera Capretti, who were from Le Marche. They came to Tuscany to grow wine. They handed on to their son Giuseppe Mora and then to Fausto and Vera’s grand-nephews Marco and Luca Mora. The name of the estate was then changed to Tenuta la Vigna di Mora Giuseppe and Sons (S.S Società Agricola). The main wines are Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG, Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG, San Gimignano Rosso DOC and Vin Santo.
Estate vineyards: 2013 70ha (173 acres) of land of which 15ha for olives, land for forest and cereal crops, and 30ha for vines. The vines are in Loc. Fugnano (16ha, stones and fossils) and Loc. Ulignano (22ha) at 275 metres. Of these there are 6ha of Vernaccia di San Gimignano (4.5ha in 2019, directly below the hill on which the town stands), 28ha of Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG. Cordone speronato. 4,400 vines/ha. Yellow sand, and seashell-rich clay. | 2018 6ha of Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG. 28ha of Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG, 1ha of San Gimignano Rosso DOC (Cabernet) and 1ha of Trebbiano and Malvasia for Vin Santo. | 2020 52ha of vines (Anteprima 2020).

Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG, Tenuta La Vigna: 2012 Fermented in stainless steel. 14%. Plump and a bit anonymous (Anteprima 2013). | 2016 20-day ferment at 14ºC. Bit grey, headachey, lacking clarity and sparkle (Anteprima 2017). | 2017 Fermented in cement tents. Light white (2018 Anteprima). | 2018 2.5 g/l residual sugar. Crisp, pineapple, clear, balanced, light weight restaurant wine (2019 Anteprima). | 2019 100% Vernaccia. Stainless steel.14°C fermentation. Estery (Anteprima 2019).
Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG, Riserva: 2018 Debut. No name as yet. Crisp as pineapple, similar to the 2018 wine above (2019 Anteprima).

Toscana Rosso, I’Gemello: 50% Sangiovese, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermented in cement. Unoaked.
Toscana Rosso, I’Morino: 50% Sangiovese, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermented in cement. Aged 24 months in barrel.
Toscana Rosso, Sollevo:
Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG: Red wine.
San Gimignano Rosso DOC: 1ha of Cabernet.

Vin Santo: From 1ha of Trebbiano Toscano (75%) and Malvasia di Candia (15%) and one other grape (15%).
