Tenuta Col Falco is an estate winery and mixed farm in Col Falco, a ‘toponimo’ in the commune of Montefalco in the Montefalco region of Umbria, Italy. It was founded in 1970 and was one of the first estates to bottle Montefalco wines. It produces white wines under the Montefalco Grechetto DOC and the Orvieto DOC; and red wines under the Montefalco Rosso DOC, the Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG, and the Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG Passito.

Winemaking: 100% hand picked. Large Slavonian oak botti.

Montefalco Grechetto DOC | 2018 85% Grechetto, 15% Chardonnay. 24 hours on skins in tank. 1,300 bottles. Creamy-sappy (at the winery 17 Feb 2019).
Orvieto DOC: Fermented and aged in concrete.
Pink wines
Umbria Rosato DOC, La Rosa del Falco: 2018 Sagrantino. 1,500 bottles. Bit dull and simple (at the winery 17 Feb 2019).

Montefalco Rosso DOC: Around 13,000 bottles.
Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG, Col Falco: 2014 12 months in stainless steel, 36 months in oak vats. Around 3,500 bottles. Slightly pretty and roasted (at the winery 17 Feb 2019). | 2015 Warm vintage. Bottled one month ago: tight, dense (at the winery 17 Feb 2019).
Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG, Passito | 2010 15%. 120g/l RS. 50cl bottles. Lightly fruity (at the winery 17 Feb 2019).
