Novi Ligure, city and industrial town north of Genoa at the mouth of the Scrivia river valley in Alessandria province in southern Piedmont (Piemonte) in northwest Italy. The town produces food, iron, steel, and textiles and is an important junction for both road and rail. The style of the buildings recalls the long period of domination by the Genoese.
