Maiolica is a red grape variety native to Italy where it is found in Abruzzo, mostly in the provinces of Pescara and Chieti, while in Le Marche it is scarce. It may be found in the IGT wines Colline Pescaresi and Terre di Chieti (min. 85%) and in some IGT blends (usually with Montepulciano) of Abruzzo and Le Marche.
Viticulture: Medium sized fairly sparse bunches, with medium berries. On average vigour; abundant and quite regular productivity. It is sensitive to cold weather.
