La Calonica, estate winery in Fraz. Valiano in the Montepulciano region of Tuscany. It makes Rosso di Montepulciano DOC and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOC red wines, and a Vin Santo di Montepulciano DOC.

Background: Founded in 1973 by the Cattani family.

Staff: Andrea Mazzoni was consulting here in the early 2000s.

Estate vineyards: 45ha on the border of the provinces of Siena and Arezzo, in the communes of Montepulciano and Cortona. Roughly 350 metres. Close to Lake Trasimeno. 65% Sangiovese (Prugnolo Gentile) and Canaiolo Nero. The rest comprises Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanc. A small amount of Malvasia Bianca, Trebbiano Toscano and Grechetto Bianco are destined for the Vin Santo DOC di Montepulciano.
