La Busattina is a Biodynamic estate in Fraz. San Martino sul Fiora in Manciano, Grosseto Province on in south-west coastal Tuscany, Italy. The owners took over a company that had been abandoned for many years. Wines are made under the Maremma Toscana DOC and Sovana DOC.
Biodynamic certification: 1990 Organic from scratch. | 1998 Went Biodynamic obtaining Demeter Italia certification.
Viticulture: Cover crops, Biodynamic preparations. Pure sulfur and copper in small quantities for oidium (powdery mildew) and downy mildew.
Vineyards: 4.5a of vineyards. 25ha of land in total of which 10 are of woodland,1 olive groves, 9 of pastures and arable land. The vines face south-east, on arenaceous soils. Day-night temperature swings.
Terroir: In the extreme south of Tuscany, between Mount Amiata and the Tyrrhenian sea. 500 m above sea level. Climatic influences from both the sea and the mountains.
Winery, Winemaking: The winery is under the house. Ancient stone cellar. No selected yeasts, no temperature control or refrigeration.

Maremma Bianco DOC, San Martino 210: San Martino 210 is the plot on the land registry the estate lies on. | 2004 75% Trebbiano (Procanico), Malvasia. | 2008 75% Trebbiano (Procanico), 20% Malvasia, 5% Ansonica
Red wines
Sovana Rosso Superiore DOC, TerreEteree [sic]: 2002 Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo. Nice crisp clean fresh red fruit (March 2005). | 2004 85% Sangiovese, 15% Ciliegiolo.
Maremma Rosso DOC, Il Ciliegiolo: Ciliegiolo.
Maremma Rosso DOC, Legnotorto: 2007 100% Sangiovese.
Other products: Extra virgin olive oil, cereals (spelt, barley, soft wheat) and honey.
