Il Lebbio is an estate winery in Località San Benedetto in the San Gimignano region of Tuscany in Italy. It produces Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG. I was told at the 2019 Anteprima that most of the grapes are sold or the wine is sold mainly in bulk. Only a small proportion is estate bottled. The name Lebbio refers to ‘Sambuchella’ or Sambucus ebulus, a wild perennial plant found on the estate.
Owners: The Niccolini brothers, Roberto and Luciano.
Vineyards: 2019 32ha of vines in Località San Benedetto, near the winery (all within a 2km radius) and mainly estate owned, with some rented vines too.
