Gimmeldingen, or Gimmeldingen an der Weinstrasse to give it its full name, is a wine-growing town in the Rhineland-Palatinate or Pfalz region in western Germany. It is situated just north of Neustadt and south of Königsbach on the edge of the Haardt mountain range in the Meerspinne grosslage. The vineyards stand immediately to the east of one of the highest peaks of the Haardt mountains, the 553 metre Weinbiet, which acts as a rainshadow. The Panorama Trail (‘Panorama Weg’) between Gimmeldingen and Königsbach is a walk offering fine views.
Terroir: Soil streaked with veins of limestone. Cool conditions due to the proximity of the forest.
