Etna DOC is a wine region in Sicily (‘Sicilia’) In the area of Catania. Etna DOC features vineyards on the slopes of the volcano from which come distinctive wines.
Wines
Sparkling wines: Production of over 160,000 bottles in 2020, up 30% on the previous year. Alongside the Nerello Mascalese, the Consortium is considering the possibility of including Carricante, one of the most representative indigenous vines of the territory and which is well suited to sparkling wine, among the grapes admitted in the production disciplinary for this type.
Etna DOC Bianco: Carricante, Cataratto Bianco Comune or Lucido, Minnella Bianca.
Etna DOC Rosso: Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Mantellato, and Nerello Cappuccio.
