Côtes-du-Roussillon AOC is the generic appellation for the dry wines of the entire Roussillon region of France, with the exception of the coastal appellations of Banyuls AOC and Collioure AOC. The AOC dates to 1977 as does the Côtes-du-Roussillon Villages AOC.
