Collina dei Venti is an organic estate in Loc. La Collina in the San Gimignano region of Tuscany in Italy. The first estate wines were made in 2015 from rented vines.
Owner: The company has been handed down for 4 generations in the Rosi family. Initially with mixed animal and vegetable production and then over the years specializing in the cultivation of grapes and wine. Now it is managed by Mauro Rosi supported by his son who has taken oenological studies.
Staff: 2019 Luano Bensi was consulting.
Terroir: Collina dei Venti (‘windy hill’) is one of the reliefs of San Gimignano. It boasts a 360 ° panorama of the Tuscan countryside and a constant presence of gusts of wind from all sides. soils of Pliocene origin.
Vineyards: 2019 10ha of rented (1950s I think) vines 6km north of the town: 1ha of Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG, 9ha of Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG.
Organic certification: 2018 First vintage with full organic certification.
White wines
Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG, Collina dei Venti: 2018 Fermented in steel. Lees aged for 6m then racked. 12.5% alc. Rich, slightly buttery, savoury, nice salty aftertaste.
