Catanese Nero is a red grape variety native to Italy.

Where grown: In Sicily (Sicilia) Catanese Nero is little-known and rare. It is cultivated only on the western side of the Etna volcano, around Palermo, Trapani, and Agrigento. It is mainly used in some IGT wines and no DOC includes it.

Viticulture: Medium sized bunches, with large berries. Average vigour; good and dependable productivity.
