Cantina Mesa is a winery on the Italian island of Sardinia (‘Sardegna’).
Owner: The Santa Margherita Wine Group acquired a majority share in Cantina Mesa in August 2017. It said it intended to work closely with the estate’s founder, Gavino Sanna, who will remain an ‘important stakeholder’. Cantina Mesa’s estimated turnover in 2017 will stand at around €4 million (Phoebe French: 2018).
Vineyards, wine production: 2018 Cantina Mesa consists of roughly 70 hectares of vineyards located in the Sulcis-Iglesiente region of southwestern Sardinia, and has an annual production of roughly 750,000 bottles (Phoebe French, 2018).
