Canavese DOC is named after the Canavese region in Piemonte (Piedmont) north west Italy. Still and sparkling wines of all three colours are made.

Production zone: In various communes in Turin Province, six communes in Biella Province and one commune in Vercelli Province.

Canavese DOC Rosato: 60-100%) Barbera, Bonarda, Freisa, Neretto and Nebbiolo (60-100%) plus 0-40% other permitted red varieties (up to 40%).

Red wines

Canavese DOC Rosso Novello: 60-100%) Barbera, Bonarda, Freisa, Neretto and Nebbiolo (60-100%) plus 0-40% other permitted red varieties (up to 40%).

Canavese DOC Rosso: 60-100%) Barbera, Bonarda, Freisa, Neretto and Nebbiolo (60-100%) plus 0-40% other permitted red varieties (up to 40%).

Canavese DOC Barbera: 85-100% Barbera 0-15% other permitted red varieties.

Canavese DOC Nebbiolo: 85-100% Nebbiolo, 0-15% other permitted red varieties.
