Canavese is a subalpine geographical and historical area of North-West Italy which lies today within the Metropolitan City of Turin in the Piedmont (Piemonte) region. Its main town is Ivrea and it is famous for its castles.It extends between the Serra di Ivrea, the Po, the Stura di Lanzo and the Graian Alps, i.e. the territory between Turin and the Aosta Valley and, to the east, the Biellese and the Vercellese.
