Balf is a small village near the Sopron region in Hungary, and not far from the Austrian–Hungarian border (and Austria’s Mittelburgenland region). Balf lies next to Lake Neusiedl (Neusiedlersee) which is noted for its thermal springs, whose water is used for therapeutic baths, or (depending on the spring) bottled as mineral water. Like all the villages around Lake Neusiedl, Balf is part of the UNESCO World Heritage region.
