Antinori vintage report: The winter of 2009-2010 was quite rainy and cold. Bud break took place in mid-April in the case of the early-ripening varieties and during the first week of May for the later-ripening grapes. Frequent showers during the flowering (the first week of June) did not have any negative effects on the bud set. A cool summer and a warm and dry September contributed to a slow and gradual maturation of the grapes and led to a late harvest, carried out in successive stages according to the ripeness of the varieties, all picked at excellent ripeness levels from mid-September to late October. High level quality in all of the grapes, quality which was subsequently confirmed in the finished wines.
