Vasco Sassetti is an state winery with vineyards in both Montalcino and the neighbouring Montecucco DOC in Tuscany, Italy. Its main wines are Rosso di Montalcino DOC and Brunello di Montalcino DOCG.

Red wines
Rosso di Montalcino DOC: 2012 20,000 bottles. Nice, plump, rich, chewy, then a bit stewed with arguably slightly aggressive acidity (Anteprima 2014). | 2013 12,000 bottles. Aged in ‘botti’. Bit blurred and tight, youthful, needs time maybe, has plenty of flesh (Anteprima 2015).
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG: 2000 Dirty wood (Anteprima 2005). | 2009 28,000 bottles. Sweet fruit, rich, full ripe style, ripe warm berries (v 2014). | 2010 16,300 bottles. Youthful, bit of funk (Anteprima 2015). | 2011 Youthful, tannins a bit extracted, but plumptious fruit (Anteprima 2016).
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva: 2007 Rich, youthful, needs time to open, tight, decent weight (Anteprima 2014). | 2009 6,666 bottles. Sweet and deep, some raisiny, dried fruit, average+ (Anteprima 2015). | 2010 Exotically ripe red fruit, vanilla, extracted, plumptious (Anteprima 2016).
