The Val d’Elsa (‘Elsa Valley’) is located in the Province of Siena in Tuscany and is named after the Elsa river. The valley’s main towns are Colle Val d’Elsa, San Gimignano, Casole d’Elsa, Monteriggioni, and Poggibonsi. The Val d’Elsa is cut through by the medieval Via Francigena.
