Untermosenhof is an estate in Bolzano (Bozen) in the Alto Adige (Südtirol) region of northern Italy (see Alto Adige DOC). The Untermoserhof lies at the foot of the Santa Maddalena hill near Bolzano. The estate was first mentioned in 1630. The main wine here is the red Santa Maddalena (Sankt Magdalener) DOC.

Vineyards, production: Currently around 3ha of estate vineyards plus 1ha is rented. ‘Vines trained in the old pergola fashion,’ (Doug Wregg, Les Caves de Pyrene list July 2011). Around 35,000 bottles. Mainly for S. Maddalena Classico and Lagrein. Also small quantities of Merlot and Chardonnay.

Santa Maddalena DOC, Südtirol Sankt Magdalener Klassisch | 2005 97% Schiava 3% Lagrein. ‘This would be fun served chilled with a plate of chunky blood sausage,’ suggests Doug Wregg of Les Caves de Pyrène list July 2011).
