White wines
Maremma Toscana DOC Bianco, Vermentino: 2011 90% Vermentino, 10% Viognier. Unoaked. £8-14.99. Light nose, restrained, clean and reviving palate, elegant, well put together if a slightly warm end. 15.5 points. Bronze at DWWA 2nd May 2013.
Maremma Toscana DOC Vermentino, Serin: 2018 100% Vermentino. 13% alc.0,4g/l residual sugar.
Red wines
Maremma Toscana DOC Rosso, Tenuta di Casteani: 2008 70% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot. £15-29.99. Smoky bacon oak, and a bit of funk, firm oak and fruit tannins well played off against each other, firm and focussed, still youthful but starting to open (Silver at DWWA 3rd May 2013).
Maremma Toscana DOC Rosso, Sessanta: 2009 80% Sangiovese, 20% Alicante Bouschet. £15-29.99. Open knit, plenty of evolution plus some stinky flavours, tannins a little broad for the fruit on offer so lacks a bit of balance, elegance (Silver at DWWA 3rd May 2013).
