Tenuta Alzatura is located | in the Montefalco DOC region of Umbria, Italy. It produces red wines under the Montefalco Rosso DOC and Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG. Alzatura is the toponym of the place where one of the company’s vineyards and the wine cellar are located. The company also owns Among the Palazzo Paulucci, in the central Piazza Mustafà in Montefalco.
Owner: Cecchi, the Tuscany-based merchant and wine-grower.
Vineyards: 2017 25 hectares (62 acres). Three vineyards in the Monterone, SanMarco and (above mentioned) Alzatura areas.
Red wines
Montefalco Rosso DOC: 2014 A bit stinky and green (Collisioni, 2017).
Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG: 2014 Denmark main market. Rather aggressive tannins, turning acetic (Collisioni 2017). | 2015 Plenty of new oak, not bad in terms of fruit palate weight, but lacking a little sparkle (Anteprima 2019).
