Steiermark or Styria in English is the second largest in size of the nine federal states of Austria. It is located in the southeast of the country. Styria’s neighbours in Austria include Burgenland, Carinthia, Salzburg, Oberosterreich (Upper Austria), and Lower Austria (Niederösterreich). Steiermark also borders Slovenia to the south.
Capital city: Graz.
Vineyards: Styria has 3,240 ha (9% of Austria) of which Southeast Styria 1,400ha, South Styria 2,340ha and West Styria 500ha.
