Spello is an ancient town and commune the Province of Perugia in the east central area of the Umbria region of central Italy. It lies on a spur of the lower southern flank of Mount Subasio. It is 6 km NNW of Foligno and 10 km SSE of Assisi. The old walled town lies on a regularly NW-SE sloping ridge that eventually meets the plain.
