Rosso Piceno Superiore DOC is a red wine denomination from 15 municipalities around Ascoli in Ascoli Piceno province in the the hilly area of Ascoli Piceno Province in the southern part of the Le Marche region of Italy. Yields are lower, ageing requirements longer and the production area more restricted compared to Rosso Piceno or Piceno DOC.

Production zone: 23 townships in Ascoli Piceno province that goes from the provincial capital Ascoli to the Adriatic coast, including the following 13 municipalities: the entire territory of Acquaviva Picena, Castorano and Offida, and part of the territories of Appignano del Tronto, Ripatransone, Monsampolo del Tronto, Colli del Tronto, Spinetoli, Castel di Lama, Ascoli Piceno, Grottammare, San Benedetto del Tronto and Monteprandone.

Ageing requirementsRosso Piceno Superiore DOC cannot be released for consumption prior to 1 November of the year following the year in which the grapes were grown (Rosso Piceno DOC can be released in November following the harvest, like Beaujolais).
