Monteriggioni is a commune and medieval fortified village (against the enemy Florence) in the north of the Province of Siena, in Tuscany, between the Chianti DOCG area and the Val d’ Elsa in central west Italy. The town, which is not far north of Siena has distinctive and extensive turreted walls. Its red wines can be bottled under the Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG. Vineyards in part of the commune are allowed the Val d’Arbia DOC (for white or pink wines only).
