MONICA DI SARDEGNA DOC is a red wine from the Italian island of Sardinia (Sardegna) made with the Monica grape variety (85-100%). The DOC was granted in 1972. Most of the wine comes from the Campidano in the province of Cagliari in the south of the island.’ (Burton 1990, p291).

Wine style | Dry or semi-sweet red. Also ‘frizzante naturale’ and ‘superiore.’ Usually soft, fairly light body, youthful ruby colour darkens to to purple with age.’ (Burton 1990, p291).
