Monica di Sardegna DOC is a red wine from the Italian island of Sardinia (Sardegna) made with the Monica grape variety (85-100%). The DOC was granted in 1972. Most of the wine comes from the Campidano in the province of Cagliari in the south of the island.’ (Burton Anderson: 1990, p.291).

Wine style: Dry or semi-sweet red. Also ‘frizzante naturale’ and ‘superiore.’ Usually soft, fairly light body, youthful ruby colour darkens to to purple with age,’ (Burton Anderson: 1990, p.291).
