Vineyard: Enzo Tiezzi told me on 09th April 2015 he had helped create the vineyard here with next to no budget.Terroir:

Terroir: Enzo Tiezzi told me on 09th April 2015 the estate is below Camigliano, along the Ombrone river, and on OK terroir: hot micro-climate, alluvial soils rich in pietrisco (“rubble”, meaning stony alluvial wash or sediments, in this case quite sandy. Potential yields can be high. Kerin O’Keefe (May 2014) cites ‘cooling breezes from the nearby Ombrone river‘.

Red wines

Rosso di Montalcino DOC, Marchesato degli Aleramici: 2011 Tasted blind at the consorzio with Ian d’Agata Tuesday 28th May 2013: Bright, low to medium intense crimson, limpid. Shy haw berry nose inside a firm aromatic shell that is hard to coax out, tannins are soft and a bit simple but this has flow to it, easy texture on the tongue, no great length. Made for immediate drinking.

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Marchesato degli Aleramici: 2000 Lightly fizzy (Anteprima 2005). | 2008 Showed a fluid colour, elegant, minor key red, sour cherry, a bit short 16+ points from me and Commended overall (DWWA 2013).

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva, Marchesato degli Aleramici: 2007 Reticent aromas, a bit dry on the palate and lacking a little clarity, with 14.5 points from me but given a Silver medal (DWWA 2013).
