Malvasia di Candia Aromatica is a white grape which is part of the amorphous Malvasia group of grape varieties. It is described as a strongly aromatic grape variety by Dr Ian D’Agata (Italy’s Native Wine Grape Terroirs). See aromatic grape varieties.

Where grown: Malvasia di Candia Aromatica is typical of the Emilia part of the Emilia-Romagna region. There it makes varietal wines. It is also found in Lazio as well as Lombardy where it appears in blends of Oltrepò Pavese DOC. Note that Malvasia di Candia Aromatica is completely different from Malvasia Bianca di Candia, which is a non-aromatic variety and generally considered to be of a lower quality.
