Località Altesi, Castello Altesi, or Località Castello Altesi is a locality in the Montalcino region in Tuscany, Italy. It is the most northerly part of the Montalcino region and borders the commune of Buonconvento. From this the point the land north of Montosoli, at the foot of Montalcino itself dips, down to 200-250 metres (650-820 feet) and into the valley of the Arbia river (see Val d’Arbia DOC), where river mists and frosts are common. The Pliocene soils here are rich in clay but with a sandy component. The wines are open, aromatic, easily approachable, shortish-haul Brunellos.
