L’Erta di Radda is an organic estate winery in Radda-in-Chianti in the Chianti Classico DOCG region of Tuscany, Italy.
Owner: Diego Finocchi (he is an oenologlist).
Vineyards: 2019 hectares (acres). Mainly on galestro. Oldest vines date from the 1970s.
Organic certification: 2008 Started going organic. | 2013 First vintage with full organic certification.
Red wines
Chianti Classico DOCG, L’Erta di Radda: 2015 98% Sangiovese, 2% Canaiolo. | 2016 100% Sangiovese. Lovely clear fruit with a good structure (Anteprima 2019). | 2017 95% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo. | 2018 95% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo. Ripe, round, well textured (Anteprima 2020).
Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva, L’Erta di Radda : 2015 100% Sangiovese. | 2016 100% Sangiovese. 13.5%. 18m in used barrels. Nice weight, quite intense, old vines, very good (Anteprima 2019). Crunchy, with plenty of fruit (Anteprima 2020). | 2018 2,500 bottles.
IGT Toscana Rosso, Due&Due: 2015 80% Sangiovese, 10% each Canaiolo Nero and Trebbiano Toscano. | 2017 60% Sangiovese, 30% Trebbiano Toscano, 10% Canaiolo Nero.
