La Fiorita is an estate winery in Castelnuovo dell’Abate in the Montalcino region of Tuscany, Italy. It produces Sant’Antimo Rosso DOC, Rosso di Montalcino DOC and Brunello di Montalcino DOCG

Owners: Roberto Cipresso and Natalie Oliveros.

Staff: Luigi Peroni.

Vineyards: On the western side of Montalcino. The nine-hectare La Fiorita Brunello di Montalcino Estate comprises four separate vineyards – La Fiorita, Pian Bossolino, Giardinello and Poggio al Sole – each with their own identity. They are cultivated using the spurred cordon method, with density averaging 7,000 plants per hectare while the yield is around 6,000 kg per ha (appellation rules are set to a maximum of 7,000 kg per hectare for Brunello). The complex diversity of soils, altitudes and microclimates offers the choice to harvest selected parts of the vineyards at different times. These selections are then vinified separately to achieve a more precise blend to craft the La Fiorita Brunello.

Red wines

Rosso di Montalcino, La Fiorita: 2018 15,000 bottles.

Brunello di Montalcino, La Fiorita: 2014 Very oaky, with sweet oak tannins dominating the fruit, but you could already drink this now, more of a Super-Rosso than a Brunello in my book but anyway (Benvenuto Brunello 2019). | 2015 21,800 bottles.

Brunello di Montalcino, NO (sic): 3,200 bottles.

Laurus: 1999 Produced.
