Green Valley of Russian River Valley AVA is an American Viticultural Area in western Sonoma County within the North Coast AVA in the state of California. It is a relatively cool region, a sub-AVA within the wider Russian River Valley AVA, south of Healdsburg. It is noted for its Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in both still and sparkling forms.
Terroir: Green Valley lies 50 miles north of San Francisco in California, United States. It is located in the southwestern corner of the Russian River Valley AVA, 50 miles (80km) north of San Francisco. It is among Sonoma County’s coolest appellations due to the proximity of the Pacific Ocean 10 miles (16km) distant which provokes cool winds and fog.
