Gino Fuso Carmignani is a producer in Montecarlo in Lucca province in northwest Alto Tuscany, Tuscany. He was the first in the Montecarlo area to plant Syrah (see below), in 1980. Wines are made under the Montecarlo DOC. The tasting room has pictures of ads for Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty concerts. In 1980 Gino Fuso produced six quintals of Syrah which was barrel aged.

Montecarlo Bianco DOC, L’Idee Hanno Sete: 2003 Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and a bit of Trebbiano. BF. Oaky nose but reduced. Traditional style using what appear to be old vines given its concentration (Visit 2005).

Montecarlo Rosso DOC, For Duke: For Jazz musician Duke Ellington: 2000 40% Syrah, 40% Merlot, 20% Sangiovese. Oaked, and a bit sherry-like from the wood, but decent weight and berry fruit notes albeit with some green tannins (Visit 2005).
