Fattoria la Castellina is an organic winery in Castellina in Chianti in the Chianti Classico DOCG region of Tuscany. Fattoria La Castellina once belonged to the Squarcialupi family, historic landowners around Castellina in Chianti. Today it is owned by the Bojola-Targioni family. The company headquarters are located in the 15th-century Palazzo Squarcialupi, where there is a sales point, a restaurant (Taverna Squarcialupi) and an hotel (Palazzo Squarcialupi Hotel). The estate also produces Vin Santo del Chianti Classico DOC.

Estate vineyards: 140 hectares of land, of which 30ha are vineyards and 10ha are olive groves. The vines are on the south-southwest side of the hill that slopes from Castellina down towards the localities of “La Ferrozzola” and “Il Monte”, around 500 metres from the town. On clearer days the towers of San Gimignano and sometimes also the town of Volterra are are visible from the estate.

Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva, SquarcialupiVines at 400-500m. South-west facing. 95% Sangiovese, 5% Colorino. 5,000 bottles. Fermented in stainless steel. Aged in Slavonian oak (24-47hl). 2010 90% Sangiovese, 5% each Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Slightly musky/exotic Turkish delight softness and blackberry notes, commended (DWWA 2013).

Chianti Classico DOCG Gran Selezione, Squarcialupi: 100% Sangiovese. Vines at 500m. Aged in 500 litre tonneaux. 2012 90% Sangiovese, 10% Colorino.

IGT Toscana Rosso, Cosimo Bojola: Fermented and aged in amphora (which were made in Impruneta) as part of a university study.

Chianti Classico DOCG, Tommaso Bojola: 2010 90% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot. Ripe, subdued red fruit, fluid, marked acidity, a little dry, but commended (DWWA 2013). | 2017 100% Sangiovese.
