Fabriano is a town and commune in Ancona province in the Italian region of Le Marche. Verdicchio-based white wines can be bottled under the Verdicchio di Matelica DOC and Verdicchio di Matelica DOCG Riserva categories. The town lies at 1,066 feet (325 metres) above sea level in the Esino valley 27 miles (44 kms) upstream and southwest of Jesi; and and 22.2 miles (36 kms) east of Gubbio.
