Ecovin, the German organic Winemaking association was founded in 1985. Its organic certification trademark has been used since 1990 by the Federal Association of Organic Viticulture or Bundesverband Ökologischer Weinbau e.V. (BÖW) in Germany. Ecovin agreed to unify national guidelines for Germany. These already embraced the entire production cycle from grape growing to cellar management.
