Château Cassagne Haut Canon is located in Saint-Michel-de-Fronsac in the Fronsadais on the right bank of the Bordeaux region. Red wines are made under the Canon-Fronsac AOC. The main building is a former hunting lodge of the Duke of Richelieu, surrounded by a park decorated with century-old trees overlooking the Dordogne. The “La Truffière” cru owes its name to the presence of truffle oaks in the park.
Owner: Zita and Jean-Jacques Dubois.
Vineyards: 12ha. 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc. Located on a small mound overlooking the Dordogne, the vineyard is a real mosaic, with all of the appellation’s soil types present. Located on one of the highest and best appointed (from a wine-growing perspective) sites in the Fronsac appellation.
