Champagne Gratien & Meyer was sold in September 2000 when Henkell & Sohnlein of Wiesbaden in Germany acquired a majority share. The deal gave H&S the sparkling wine cellars Gratien & Meyer Seydoux S.A. in Saumur and the Champagne cellars of Champagne Afred Gratien in Epernay in the Champagne region of France.
