Chakana is a Biodynamic estate winery based in Agrelo in Lujan de Cuyo in the Mendoza region of Argentina. It was founded in 2002. It launched its INKARRI brand in 2017.
Terroir: Vineyards in Agrelo, Major Drummond, Gualtallary and two in Altamira (all Mendoza).
Vineyards & production: 75 hectares (185 acres) producing 28,000 cases with Demeter certification out of a total of 120 hectares (296 acres) producing 48,000 cases overall (IBWC 2018).
Biodynamic certification: Alan York advised on Biodynamics. 2012 Conversion to Biodynamics began. | 2014: organic certification (IFOAM). | 2016 First vintage with full Demeter Biodynamic certification. | 2016: Biodynamic certification of Nuna vineyard. |

Inkarri Estate White: 2017 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Chardonnay. 1,400 cases. Wild ferment in steel. Nice apple fruit (IBWC 2018).
Red wines
Inkarri Estate Malbec: From Agrelo on deep loam soils. 2017 20,600 cases. Juicy fruit (IBWC 2018).
Inkarri Estate Red (blend) | 2016 1,100 cases. Tannat, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec all in a single plot on stoney, sandy clay soils. Juicy fruit (IBWC 2018).
