Cetona is a well preserved medieval village on the mountain of the same name in the the southern part of the province of Siena, in Tuscany, Italy, where the Umbria and Lazio regions meet. The town lies at around 350 metres. The summit of Monte Cetona is 1,148 metres. Previously part of the Chiusi territory, it was incorporated with the Sovana area into the Aldobrandeschi fiefdom when Ildebrando Aldobrandeschi of Sovana became Pope Gregory VIT, in 1073.
