Azienda Agricola Cascina Ca’ Rossa di Ferrio Angelo | Organic wine estate in the Piemonte region of north-west Italy. Its main wines are the white Roero Arneis DOCG, and reds Langhe Nebbiolo DOC, Barbera d’Alba DOC, and Roero Riserva DOCG.
Owners | Angelo Ferrio, son of Alfonso Ferrio. Alfonso founded the domaine, by buying the family farmhouse overlooking the Canale-Asti road in the 1960s. It was a mixed farm, with cows, fruit trees, and a small vineyard. The first wines were bottled in 1995 after Angelo had returned from military service (previously the wines were sold in demi-johns). More land was acquired, in the prized areas of Roero including in Audinaggio in Vignamaggiore di Vezza d’Alba (a very steep site).
