Calosso DOCG is red wine based on the Gamba Rossa grape from the Piemonte (Piedmont) region of Italy. The denomination dates from 2011 and encompasses both a dry red and a dried grape or ‘passito’ version. Riserva wines must have slightly higher alcohol levels and longer ageing (30 instead of 20 months) before release.
Wines
Calosso DOCG Rosso: Red made from 90-100% Gamba Rosso and 0-10% other authorised red grapes.
Calosso DOCG Passarà: Dried grape wine, either shrivelled on the vine or after picking.
