Cabernet Sauvignon, Bianchi Elsa’s Vineyard: 1999 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Doña Elsa Vineyard on Wednesday 5th December 2001 at the bodega showed clean, slightly green fruit and warm but attractive cedar and herb varietal character but not as good as either the Barbera or the Malbec. On Monday 22nd April 2002 at the bodega again has more fruit than last with firm structure, maybe too firm.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Bianchi Particular Proprietor’s Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon: 1993 100% Cabernet Sauvignon 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Asti Vineyard in Las Paredes; unoaked. 1996 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Unoaked. On Monday 22nd April 2002 at the bodega tasted sweeter and smelt sweeter than the Elsa 1999 CS; rounder tannins perhaps.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Bianchi Famiglia Bianchi Cabernet Sauvignon: 1994 Debut. 1995 Exists. 1996 On Wednesday 5th December 2001 at the bodega showed attractive, ripe, evolved, crisp, nice red and black fruit but too much TA; good colour. 1997 Clean cedar, good structure; more evolved than the 1996 when tasted on on Wednesday 5th December 2001, somewhat fizzy, can taste TA, good glass but could not drink a whole bottle; £15.99 retail, via Charles Hawkins. When tasted on Monday 22nd April 2002 at the bodega again you get the acid on entry. 1998 None made. 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Merlot from Asti Vineyard Hand picked. Aged in French oak for 20 months. on Wednesday 5th December 2001 at the bodega tasted quite dumb, somewhat reduced, green, high TA again. When tasted on Monday 22nd April 2002 at the bodega had much sweeter fruit than the 1997. But lacking complexity for the money.
