Ayler Kupp is a vineyard site or Einzellage in Ayl in the Saar region of Germany renowned for its Riesling. The Kupp was greatly expanded after 1971 when the German Wine Law was introduced. However ‘only the slope to the north of Ayl, below the hill called Ayler Kupp, deserves the good name’ says Stuart Pigott (1995: p.36).
