Alto Adige DOC Kerner, white wine from the Alto Adige (Süd-Tirol) region in northern Italy (see Alto Adige DOC) made from a minimum 85% Kerner. It can be made as a ‘passito’ or ‘vendemmia tardiva’ or ‘riserva’. The vines are primarily located in Bassa Atesina, Oltradige and the Adige Valley. Kerner is grown mainly at higher elevations of the Isarco Valley and the Val Venosta, ideally on gravelley soils in areas with good sun exposure at altitudes of between 600 and 900 metres (2,000 and 3,000 feet) above sea level.
